Whistler WS1040 question.

When I turn on my scanner the welcome screen comes up for 3 to 5 seconds and then waiting for DSP shows up and stays there. What could be the problem is there anything I can do to fix this

Don't use GRE firmware on a Whistler scanner. You may brick it.
