So I manually programmed this scanner because the software cable provided my computer would not recognize it cause it had no known driver. That’s not the problem I’m having the problem I am having is I programmed all the ems and fire channels into manually and I have no problem picking up dispatch. The problem I’m having is after the dispatch is made I can never hear the description of the call. I know that they are giving a description of the call cause I compare with the mobile app. Was wondering if maybe I’m missing something with programming sense I manually did it.

I'd be tempted to guess that a delay setting is incorrect...however...

It's almost impossible to diagnose this properly without certain basic information - where you are (county/state is great) and precisely what system you are trying to monitor. We would need the URL from our database - see the blue 'RadioReference' in the upper left toolbar? Click on the down arrow, select Database and use the pulldowns and links to get to your state. Each state has a tab marked 'Trunked Systems'. Find your desired system there.

If you are trying to trunk track the South Central Interoperability Network, you will have issues depending on what TGs you program. The 1065 is not Phase 2 capable, and it can't be upgraded for this. Additional hardware and memory is required and the scanner can't deal with that

Anything that has a 'T' in the mode column is Phase 2; anything with 'DE' or 'TE' is encrypted - no scanner will deal with that. The scanner will handle anything with a 'D' in the mode column

This is definitely something I have overlooked. Buying a scanner used to be a bit more simple. Looks like I’m sending this one back and I will rely on 5-0 radio for now. Maybe somebody I will buy a new scanner but it looks like all phase 2 capable scanners are at least 500 dollars. That’s a bummer. Thanks for the responses I really appreciate it.

Perhaps not. Did you look at the Unication G5 or the Blue Tail P25RX? Both are Phase II capable, and we've quite a list of activity on both units. You can't do anything about the encryption - no scanner will. You can find information on both here...

Franklin Co talkgroups are currently phase 1 which your scanner will receive. Police is fully encrypted. No scanner is able to receive that. You will be able to receive everything else in Franklin Co using the WS1065. If system changes to phase 2, you are out of luck. The database shows Franklin Co as being a simulcast site. You may have a problem with dropouts and garbled audio. If so, the Uniden SDS100/SDS200 scanners and the Unication G5 pager (UHF T-Band Model) are the only radios that will work. I am not familiar with the Blue Tail unit.
