I think it's a moot point if you can't hear it.
yea probably more radar detectors that dont work eitherSad news about the TRX-100 and TRX-200 but it's great to hear they already have several other new projects on tap for the future.

If I am smiling, it is a bittersweet smile. No schadenfreude, here.
I feel that it's worth pointing out that two of the classiest posts in this thread were made by Whistler's direct competition. Perhaps there's a lesson to be learned from their example.I was personally looking forward to seeing what innovations Whistler was going to bring to the table. More scanners, more options for customers, people being able to find things that work better for them; it's all good for the market.
Not surprising in the least.I feel that it's worth pointing out that two of the classiest posts in this thread were made by Whistler's direct competition. Perhaps there's a lesson to be learned from their example.![]()
Friends dont let friends buy TRX-1s
So Whistler is pretty much dead to us anymore. There is no reason to buy their radios anymore. They don't trunk track right. Plus why buy a radio from a company that lies to you and who knows if they will support the radios anymore and provide firmware updates.
If you stick with Uniden they are releasing firmware updates to their older radios and making rock solid with DMR and NXDN and the radio's trunk track right. Plus the TRX 1 and 2 are way too expensive for what they can do at this point. Who cares if you get DMR and NXDN for Free. Nothing is ever free in this world. I mean to keep bashing since I have a WS1065 radio which is a good radio but its now going to get replaced in its spot to house another BCD996P2.
The interesting thing about that link is that it takes me to a thread in the private forum used by the moderators to deal with reported posts. You may think it's a dead link, but, to me, it's a good link. Not sure how CQ came up with it, but I'm not losing any sleep over it.
I guess we're just gonna ignore the squelch circuit on the TRX 1 and 2 that is absolute trash? And the complete lack of front end filtering? For $600 I should be able to drive through center city Philadelphia without hearing commercial paging data coming out of my speaker along with the analog transmission. Absolutely unacceptable!
Dan you forgot to mention that the TRX radios also cannot pick up Philly fire and police simulcast because of LSM issues. They also don't work a lick on Bucks County P2 simulcast, not a lick. If they made a radio that worked on my hometown police and fire I would consider purchasing it but until then...I guess we're just gonna ignore the squelch circuit on the TRX 1 and 2 that is absolute trash? And the complete lack of front end filtering? For $600 I should be able to drive through center city Philadelphia without hearing commercial paging data coming out of my speaker along with the analog transmission. Absolutely unacceptable!
Had I known then what I know now, I would have kept my rock solid bcd396xt.
Whistler doesn't have a tavern. All the drunks have to come get rowdy in my basement.
