I have seen Wireless Advanced Communications with their trailer at the Greeley Police department a few times. An Officer told me they were "rebanding" but I don't think he meant what WE all mean by "rebanding". Maybe they were upgrading radios or doing maintenence on them? Do they maybe do stuff with the MDCs? I see they are out of Evans and also a town in Wyoming based on their website, and they have a listing in the Colorado RR Database. I just didn't know if anybody knew what all they did and how involved they are with the DTRS. Just curious!

On Wed afternoon while driving home I heard a short interoperability demo on Mac-8 where Wyoming contacted CSP Denver dispatch from Casper, Wyoming as a demo. Casper spoke with 2 CSP troopers in their cars to show that they could.

Might be unrelated but might have something to do with adding Wyoming interop capability to Weld radios.

I will be corrected if I am wrong, But WAC are the ones that install and keep things updated for the states DTRS...They are the ones that installed all the radios for Logan county as well.

Ya they're the primary service people of all the radios in at least Weld county, you'll here officers on the radio all the time saying en-route to wireless for radio problems. I'm not sure what all they do with the DTRS system but they are involved.

I don't believe they are the primary service company for DTRS. Broomfield and (I believe all of) Adams county uses Legacy Communications for their radio maintenance.

Not to be confused with Advanced Wireless Communications down here in Denver... or Advanced Wireless Solutions, either. :)

The majority of WACs business is in Weld Co. (as mentioned earlier). They do radio system work (repeaters to handhelds and everything in between) and also PD/FD/EMS vehicles (full builds).

thanks! So basically different companies have contracts with the different agencies to work on the radio system? That is pretty interesting! I know a cousin of mine did some work as a contractor for the State Patrol having to do with their MDCs or gps. She didn't tell me too much about it. Its cool that the system works pretty well even with so many different companies involved! .
