Win500 is not recognizing the usb programming cable 20-546 Pro-106 & Pro-197

Windows 7 professional Win500 v2.02, (tried on Dell D630 & Dell latitude 2100)

I have loaded the VCP drivers from the FDTI site version 2.04.06 & 2.08.14 for windows loaded as COM3 left settings at default, changed to other com ports 1,2 etc.

programming adapter not connected

just to test the system I loaded ARC500 trial, everything works fine

thanks in advance

Did you load the correct Windows7 Professional specific drivers, if any were available from the FDTI website? This is something that messes up a lot of folks...Mike

What USB Serial Port is listed in Device Manager.

BTW, Windows 7 64 OS should already have drivers ready for the cable. Plug in and go unless you have an older Win500 version.

Win500 usb cable help

I am running Win7 32 bit and have downloaded the correct drivers for the cable installed manually, compatibility mode and ran the .exe

Com port listed in device manager is 3, I have changed it to 1,2,4 (left port settings at default)

I am running the most current version of Win 500 v2.02

cable and driver worked on com3 with ARC500 (i don't like that software) but it allowed me test scanner, laptop and cable
