Linkysys WRT54G

Changed Passwords
Running Tomato Firmware
Different SSID (not Default)

MAC Address Filtering
63 Char WPA2 (TKIP/AES Encryption)

I will admit SSID Broadcast is enabled.

Am I safe? :D

No.

AES has a back door, which is why it was approved by NSA but not allowed for classified communications..

Sure about that?

http://www.cnss.gov/Assets/pdf/cnssp_15_fs.pdf said:
The design and strength of all key lengths of the AES algorithm (i.e., 128, 192 and 256) are sufficient to protect classified information up to the SECRET level. TOP SECRET information will require use of either the 192 or 256 key lengths. The implementation of AES in products intended to protect national security systems and/or information must be reviewed and certified by NSA prior to their acquisition and use."

You could also turn router RF power down to a bare minimum to cover
the area desired if your firmware will allow it.

That's an extra security step.

I guess it would be.

With the Tomato Firmware, I actually have it turned up to Max

I take it (the Laptop) and sit outside sometimes so....
Ok I guess it's not quite max...

I would not run over about 150 on power, on other forums I have heard they don't last very long running that high without heatsinks.

I run mine at 72, 150 made no usable difference in signal distance.

hmmm..
that wont be too hard

It's not my primary router
I'm using it as an AP only.
For a router I'm using a Netgear WGR614v9.

So If I fry the chip I wouldn't be too upset although I'd like to keep it so, thanks for the tip :D

I also have a WAP54G setup with DD-WRT.
