This frequency is listed in the database as an NFM channel called WCFD LINK, but a month or so ago, I was receiving digital buzzes on that channel, so I set the audio type to All for it, and now I'm hearing patient reports, all P25 transmissions with an NAC of 176h, but sometimes there's an analog channel ID in Morse Code too. I've heard the patient reports being directed to Camden Clark Medical Center, but also Marietta Memorial Hospital on that same channel. I think this is Westcom and they just relay the patient information to the hospital that the unit is going to.

Yep, I see that. But if it's on SIRN, then why would I hear a full conversation on that one frequency? Unless maybe that system doesn't switch frequencies for each transmission? So, this would suggest that there's a TGID in Wood County (54) that hasn't been discovered yet, so I think I'll start using ID Search on it and see what I find. Thanks for the help. 👍

The continuous use of that frequency could be the result of nobody else having a conversation on that repeater at the time, possibly, and the system just reusing that frequency because it was available. The talk group for a medical report probably wouldn't be listed under Wood County but would fall under the WV Regional EMS grouping. The identified talk groups start with either 98 or 99.

Okay. I see a channel named WESTCOM MED (9807) and a few other WestCom channels. I guess it must be one of those I was hearing. So if WCFD LINK is an analog channel with CSQ then how can I set my scanner to ignore the digital interference?

I don't know of a way to do that. However, the question in my mind is whether Wood County would still be using that frequency as an analog channel. Seems like they would have the same interference problems with a digital repeater using the same frequency within the county.

I'm not sure. 🤷‍♂️ I actually haven't ever heard any traffic from them on that frequency except for a Morse Code channel ID. So I thought it was still active but I'm not sure.
