i live in wright county and we just switched to digital. should i wait to buy a scanner or should i but one now. just wanted to know if the technology is changing to the point where i should not spend 500 dollars now.

what is the difference between p25 phase 1, and phase 2?
will Wright switch to phase 2?

sounds like the format is still in development according to the wiki, but i dont know how old that tidbit it... pretty much FDMA versus TDMA... unless MSP area doubles in size and 800 frequencies become so congested, i dont foresee to change to phase II any time soon...

GRE scanners are out w/o a firmware upgrade, not sure about the uniden radios, but a firmware upgrade would fix any problems id imagine...
