When I add a TG in Sentinel for my 436 and then write to scanner it will give me an option to "replace on scanner" or "skip" for systems that I have not made a change to. It's not giving me a problem, just wonder why it happens. Should I select replace, or skip?

I use replace all the time. I don't make any changes directly on the scanner (that I care to lose) and I seldom read from the scanner.
I check the box to DELETE FL on scanner and allow Sentinel to always replace them. Works fine. If I make any list changes on the scanner, I will always "read from scanner" first. Keeps them well synchronized.

When updating a favorite, I always do a "replace" for all FLs when writing to the scanner from Sentinel. While I know I don't have to, its just something that I do and it has not created any issues. By all means you can skip any that are not being changed. Sort of up to you.

Isn't something backwards here? I was thinking that when you read FROM the scanner TO Sentinel, you get the options to copy, replace, skip, Favorites Lists. But when writing FROM Sentinel TO the scanner, it's replace all Favorites Lists when it comes to choices.

If a guy isn't careful, he can undo/overwrite a lot of hard work making updates, etc.

When writing to the scanner from Sentinel, you also may have the options to copy, copy with a new name, or skip when writing a system to the scanner from Sentinel when the list in Sentinel differs from what is in the scanner.

How about that. . .

I've always done the Erase Favorites Lists on the scanner, so I never saw that until just now. Thanks for straightening me out!
