If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

One of my channels on my XPR7550e is programmed to do a DMR TG4000 Disconnect.
Is there a way to assign one of the buttons to do that instead?

Which button? The programmable buttons, or one of the keypad buttons?
I don't think you can make the programmable buttons send that disconnect tg for brandmister, but you should be able to do it on the keyboard buttons(0-9)

I was hoping to use one of the programmable buttons.
So, would I just enter 4000 from the keypad and hit PTT? Sounds like a Manual Dial.

Entering it from the keypad won't do anything. That will just dial DTMF. You need to have a talkgroup set up for 4000. I just put a channel with the 4000 talkgroup, then key that channel.

That's what I do now. I just thought it would make it easier to program a button instead of spinning the channel knob all the way back to the TG4000 Disconnect channel.

You MAY be able to do this by going into General --> Control Buttons, Set up a One Touch Access and then assign that One Touch Access to a button on the radio.. I have never tried this so it may or may not work for you as you would like.

I tried that.
I was able to assign a button to a One-Touch Access. but was unable to edit the One Touch Access or add another. I guess I will just turn the channel back to TG4000.
I remember on one of my other DMR radios I could assign a button to a Talkgroup.
