If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Using the CPS R20.01.00 to program a VHF XTS 2500 what am I missing to be able to enter a NAC ? I would like to set a mixed mode channel, conventional, with PL and a NAC but I can't find the option or location to enter the NAC. What else i would need to check or activate in the personality setting to turn this on. My dropdown is CSQ, PL, DPL am i trying to set this in the wrong place ?

Its been a long time since i have programmed conventional in an XTS but if you only have CSQ, PL, DPL options your personality is set to Analog only. You need to check the conventional personality and change it to mixed mode. Hopefully someone else can add anything i missed.

First you have to make a conventional personality with the RX options checked for mixed mode then TX options checked for Astro. Then in the zone channel assignments point to that personality for the channel you want to be mixed mode RX and Astro TX. Then it will allow selection of NAC.

I usually set up three personalities, one analog only, one mixed mode for the channels I will transmit on in P25, then a RX only mixed mode for receive only of public service stuff. The only change to that is when you have FPP enabled and the radio forces a bunch of channels to have an individual personality, like over 100 of them and for that you have to make a specific personality for most channels.

Thank You ! That was it, a setting wrong in my personalities, and I didn't scroll far enough to the right to see the network ID's open up from this setting.

Thanks everyone for your help.
