• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have a model 3 XTS 2500i that came with the pmmn4038A but from other places I've read that the HMN4112A GPS 2 should work with my radio and I tried it on a model 2 2500 from my fire department and it worked just fine but it won't work at all with my 2500i and I've looked everywhere but I can't figure out why it won't work
Can anyone help me with this please ?

Well that's the thing that I don't really need the GPS function to work I just need the channel selector and buttons to work
And I think ( if flashcode is the same as u was talking about ) the current flashcode is 569018c0178c9 but not for sure that's just what it has on the sticker in the back

I am also new to all of this and I'm learning as I go and have not had the chance to get a computer that can run the cps to get everything working as I want it too

Hi im new to all of the programming stuff and need some advise and info from the veteran Motorola guys. I am looking to get my hands on the CPS software for the APCO 25 ( XTS 2500i and 5000) software so i can reformat my XTS 2500i to use the GPS 2 RSM and reprogram some of the buttons and reactivate some of the functions that was either removed or turned off when the company i bought it from programmed it for me. if anyone can tell me what and how and where to get it from and some things i need to look for or do to get things back on the radio or how to get the RSM to work with my radio it would be greatly appreciated and helpful.
thank you for any input or advise you can provide me and have a great day.
(p.s. my computer is on windows 10 pro 64-bit)

Apparently people just join here and not read the rules. I miss the days where Batlabs was in its prime.

I know having a forum is supposed to help you but just know that asking for Motorola CPS is taboo. Go on eBay and pay slmeone to program it for you or ask someone to program it here for you.

CPS is very difficult to use and if you’ve never used it before the chances of you F’ing something up and possibly being on a system your not supposed to be on is very high.

Can you even get XTS CPS from Moto anymore?
Idk what CPS you are using but "very difficult" isnt how I'd describe XTS CPS.

It is for a newbie, especially if they can't differentiate between the flash and the firmware. The OP needs help with this, from someone local to him, or someplace he can send it.

plus i know yall linked the one thread that was about the cps but the info in there is soo old and out of date i dont consider that useful info anymore cause ik the radio hobby has changed alot since then
