• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Scanning a trunking network with a ASTRO25 Radio

Scanning a trunked system in conventional personality zone. By setting the deviation to 2.5 kHz the 700Mhz voice channels have to be scanned manually. By setting the deviation to 5.0 kHZ the 800Mhz voice channels can be heard/scanned normally.

This is conventional P25 Split transmit narrow band, this isn't trunking. 16 channels per zone, and yes they are including in my scan list. And thank you all for trying to help I appreciate all input.

769.00625 and 799.00625 are the first valid frequencies.

If you want to go lower, you'll have to hex edit the CPS file to change the limits.

I have Hex Editor Neo and have the file up in the computer, do you know where to edit it? Would it be under the channel assignment I would put it in?

You don't need to change the frequency limits. Those frequencies you posted are within the allowed frequencies of your radio.

No I already had it set to narrow deviation, but I never complain if someone is kind enough to try to help

So you could always successfully enter those frequencies without an error?

In your original posts you made it seem like you couldn't even enter those, but now the issue has changed to you can't scan them.

Maybe you should post your codeplug for others to look at.

That was my mistake. I also entered the 700Mhz frequencies along with lower deviation into conventional personality, But for some odd reason the frequencies won't unmute while in scan mode. Sorry for the confusion, I'll start a new thread, my apologies to the OP....

A digital or analog voting system that is simulcast?

Sure. Why not?

My point was if the "Digital modulator" type is set to C4FM and it's P25 simulcast it won't work, it needs to the set to CQPSK.

In manual it "may" work, but in scan it won't...been there done that.

We have many analog simulcast systems, the next town just did a 5 site analog simulcast system with 7 receivers.
The biggest around us is a 26 site analog simplex simulcast system with total 35 receivers

95% of the Digital systems around here are simulcast, I guess since they were doing a new digital system they might as well get the coverage they want.

We also still have some single site trunking systems and many simulcast trunking systems

When I try to enter the frequencies in the program it gives me the red text and "honks" at me and it reverts to another frequency when I try to save it

The only way I could duplicate that was having the "Tx Opt Transmit Dev" set to 5 kHz.

Interesting...

Ok I finally figured out the issue with the program, when I put the frequency in it "honks" turns red and I move on because it defaults to another deviation once I change that it accepts it but now I try to program the radio with it and it gives me a message that says "Radio Failed to Acknowledge Error Context: 24, Status c0000386" anyone? No idea what that means?
