Yaesu FT7900R Scanning?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do priority scanning in memory mode?
i was wanting to make channel 1 the priority channel then press the scan button and be able to scan the other 27 channels i have saved, then have it check channel 1 every so many seconds for traffic?

right now when i press priority for channel 1 and the select the scan button it just beeps 2 times and doesnt scan

I don't own the 7900, but do have several other Yaesu radio's.

So far, on all my Yaesu radio's, you can either sit on a channel static and have priority active to check your main channel OR scan. It doesn't appear you can do both. Not sure if this is the same for the 7900, but so far has been my experience.

This is one reason I prefer carrying a scanner with me in my car along with my actual radio since they usually scan much faster then radio's anyways and can set a priority channel and scan at the same time. Its usually easier to lock out channels on the fly on a scanner too.
