Does Yonkers FD now dispatch on a UHF freq? The database still shows 46.500MHz.

Check NF2G.com. I think they're in the 480s now.

NF2G still shows 46.500 as the dispatch freq and 484.7125 as Operations. Maybe all the transmissions are on operations now. I'll try to listen tonight but from Jersey City I may be too far away.

Gentlemen,

Yonkers FD still uses 46.50 for their dispatch. Once dispatched, they switch to 484.7125, witch is there main freq for operations.

Hope that helps

What kind of range do the Yonkers FD freq's have? I can pick up the Operations freq in Jersey City but nothing on the 46.50 freq. All I can hear on the Operations freq is the battalion chief and dispatcher talking back and forth.

46.500 does have much power these days. It's only used for tones inside the fiehouses so the power seems to be set at a point that only the firehouses can hear it. I am only a few minutes outside the city and can barely hear it.

The UHf 484.7125 has good power and can be heard pretty well.

PD went digital because they were sold the line that it could not be monitored. FD didn't care about that. As well as cost being a factor.
