Noticed that the zip search / database entry doesnt recognize the postal code A0A from Newfoundland.

User could manually enter the lat long (I hope) or do a auto locate or hook up a GPS but cant enter A0A
leads to out of range.

Did you select Canada for the country and enter the full 6 digit postal code? The system needs to know exactly where within Newfoundland.

Just the Province is not sufficient. That'd be like someone in the US giving just the State

Thanks for trying to help out. But for the HP/SDS scanners in Canada you can ONLY enter the first 3 digits of the postal code There is no option to enter more. 3 digits does give more than just the province.
From the manual " Select Canada then enter the first 3 digits of your postal code. The scanner will select things to scan based on the zip code location. "

It allows A0E but not A0A (so maybe missing in the database etc). I solved it by entering the exact lat long.

A0A A0B A0C A0D all "out of range". A0E was fine.

Replicated on my SDS as well. Maybe something to add to the database

Yes, it's broken with the latest 536HP firmware. It's also broken in the latest version of x36HP Sentinel.

Have you tried entering A-OH-A rather than A-zero-A? Maybe the database has the letter O in it instead of the number zero.

It's easy to check the actual zip file. It's a text file in the Uniden files.

It's not a text file, but rather a .dat file. If you open it in a text editor such as Notepad++, it's gibberish.

And to answer the other poster's question...no, it's not a mismatch between the number zero and the letter O. Even if it were, it would still be incorrect and in need of fixing.

You have too look in the file using a hex editor. But the zip file are not used, it's date are ancient and has no Canada zip that starts with A0, the zip codes must have been baked into the firmware and Sentinels exe file.

Fair enough, I see them now. Anyway, confirmed that these are the only Canadian postal codes that start with A0, so something needs fixing.

A0E 47.1503 -55.2995 NL
A0H 47.4838 -56.071 NL
A0N 48.6256 -58.9758 NL

I'm in Ontario and my postal code shows up as "out of range" as well. (L9Z)
I just entered my GPS co-ords. FIXED
