Going on a trip from Kirkland Lake to North Bay. I was wondering if I program Zone 3 trunking, will I hear the OPP all the way to North Bay??? Or I have to program other frequencies???

I'm not sure i understand your question.

If you program Zone 3 trunking in, then I assume you'll be programming all the towers from Kirkland Lake to North Bay in.

If that's the case, then you'll have all the frequencies you need.

I'm here a lot
For those of you who do location-based scanning with a GPS, I have put in the geotags for almost all towers in Zone 3.

The ones I am missing are:

  • Site 39 - Watershed
  • Site 44 - Flame Lake
  • Site 45 - Aubrey Falls
  • Site 47 - Missanabie
  • Site 48 - Jackpine
  • Site 56 - North Bay North (Merrick)

If you know the co-ordinates I would appreciate it if you could submit them to complete Zone 3 geotagging.

Thanks :)

EMS on PCom

Cochrane County EMS is on PCom since this morning. Dispatch and units are having trouble with the radio (not good quality audio, missing transmissions). Can someone confirm if OPP are on their regular T/Gs. I didn't hear anything about maintnance being done on the towers!

Yah I am in Chapleau and supposedly N.Bay took a hit from that lightning storm last night and around 2:00 AM or shortly after this morning is when all the MAIN talkgroups (3OPS22, 25, etc) went down. So that is why in your area you are hearing the ambulances on PROV COM and the OPP units on TAC Talkgroups and on their Detachment Talkgroups all day. Here in Chapleau our ambulance used there old VHF channel (NOARS 1) for a radio check this morn and that was it and since this afternoon all of our OPP units along with untis from 3OPS24 are all on 3TAC04. Even N.Bay is not on there regular console, because they are using a totally different RADIO ID than what they usually use according to TRUNK88 and N.Bay said that on their computer screens they don't see what STATUS Button the officers are pressing like (Available, System, Mobile, etc).

So I am thinking everyone will still be on the TAC's or Detachment Talkgroups for the time being until they get things fixed, what ever the problem is.

Hope this answers your question.
