Question about an ID

We have ID--1841.. It is alledgedly a prison trans? I hear them going here and there, and just now, they checked in from South Berwick.. I can't say HOW I know, but I am %100 positive, whoever it is, was just in my neck of the woods.. VERY close..
I am stating fact here, just like yesterday, the 700 and 1100 units were on ID-101.
Why would a prison transport truck be in a jail-less town?
A rolling probation officer?

OK, this is getting strange now, they just left the york county food pantry, and 1 is going to Mcdonalds in Kennebunk...
Who goes to a food pantry and would be ID-1841?

It sounds like it may be the re-entry center from YCJ bringing people around to their jobs. Are they giving out their mileage as well?

Not the York County Jail; it is SMRC, the Southern Maine Reentry Center in Alfred which is a state DOC facility. That is why they are now using TG1841 on MSCommNet; the DOC transport channel. Their transport operation was formerly on 154.7700 (192.8) and inadvertantly repeated on the old Region 1 Net on 155.5800.

I would agree that this is an extremely worthwhile program. It has reportedly been very successful for their clients. Whatever it costs to take them to a job is vastly less than what ever the cost of being on welfare.

You are telling us, the freq's --I-- was chasing in the unused freq forum a while back, is the jail work program?
Now, they are trunked.
So, 154.770, and 155.580 is now free to be used by another entity?

#1, you just saved me alot of time this coming week.
I was gonna go check them out in Kennebunk, or where ever they transport to..
#2, I wish that was put in the forum, instead of a few of us scratching our heads..
#3--off beat here--- I wonder if Nh does that, cause that same lingo is used by an entity on the Quimby trunk system..

Thank's 45 for the info

I have talked to a couple troopers and a warden about how they like it. They say that there can be some spots where coverage is better but still many spots it is not. Another thing I don't find to appealing is the fact they can not walk over each other. So say a troop B trooper is giving out some long disposition and a troop A trooper is on a traffic stop and needs immediate backup all his radio does is beep at him meaning someone else is using the system. Defiantly not a fan of that part, though I know most trunked systems are that way.

Unknown on "Harris" but many of the systems, IF programmed correctly and the user is "Trained on it" have an over-ride feature (if enabled) It might be there.... For those interested "google" Busy override or Manual Busy Override

BTW for the other poster complaining about the system.
Your using a Scanner (enuff said) not a radio designed for Public Safety use

Some info about the specifics of Maine RegionNet are here:
http://www.maine.gov/tools/whatsnew/attach.php?id=631662&an=3

I monitor both P25 and RegionNet. When it comes to Maine State Police Zone 1, I see no difference between the P25 traffic and the RegionNet (172.4250) traffic. My Maine SP feed uses the RegionNet frequency.

I've never heard any local, municipal, or county to SP traffic on RegionNet though RegionNet is designed for that. Of course there is other traffic on the P25 MSCommNet such as MEMA, game wardens, DOT, etc... This stuff is not fed to the RegionNet.

These are listed in the Piscataquis database, and should be listed as sites for the state system...

Site 75 is in the database I believe but the others are not. Anyone have site information on these before its removed from the county listing?

I don't know if it is just for the holiday--
I caught the 95 patrol units using ID--715..
They are still using it as of 3:15 pm today.
The 700's unit is talking to Grey on 711, and Pike on 715..
I have that 715 ID as being encrypted.
I have that ID as permanently locked out--not for long..
So--we'll see if it is temporary..
