Ugh. Hopefully the alpha paging will be an along with voice paging and not an instead of voice paging. But I’m also not the biggest fan of the alpha paging concept.

I monitor Luzerne daily. So far a big 10-10 on any new TGs used or tested that I have heard. I’ll keep an extra ear or three open when I’m hear 71, 85, or 158 sent to the Pike to see how it’s handled. As of now I only hear them working off of Luzerne’s East Fire unless they request a Luzerne Ops TG.

That 3-Chester, 4-Bucks numbering for out of County seems to match up with CAD unit ID’s. At least from what I see on Pulse Point. I think I also saw an 8 for Lehigh units a few times as well. I can’t really add too much else though. I listen from another part of the state and only get to...

I get LF 3 dispatch and ops on the 453.125 and have never heard activity in this area on the 155.16. But that also used to be my Counties primary hospital notification channel prior to out switch to P25 a few years ago.

Well that’s a major bummer. I’ll have to make a trip to that part of the state to get some recordings for posterity before they switch over. I’ll miss the current system.

Yep! The excuse I always heard was it was to make things simpler for the field units and for the comm center. It’s still a poop show. The field units never had any problems with how it was. Yet 15 or more years later and the comm center still can’t get things right. Should’ve left it alone.

Plus one for this. I don’t understand why anyone wants to see huge blocks of silence. If I download archives the first thing I do is run it through audacity to cut the silence out. If I view it on my phone it’s a pain to have to keep manually skipping ahead to avoid the silent spots.

Mine got the old power blip again the other day. Fortunately I was around to catch it fairly quickly but it’s a good reminder that I need to make it my weekend project sooner than later to reprogram and swap out the scanner for the feed to eliminate this frustration.

I used to be able to get the VHF dispatch pretty consistently in the northeast part of the state until a few years ago. Nice to see the new system is juiced up as well. But I did notice when traveling that I’ll get this system to pick up for much longer distances than others in the area.
