When there are very strong band-openings in the warmer weather months, I can hear the Detroit Arsenal site, but that system is rather low profile. It will be interesting to see if they switchover to 98D later on this year. 73's Ron

Information has been received that the U.S. Army is migrating to a new P25 Phase II TRS, which has a system ID of 98D. Apparently, this new TRS is replacing the older system ID of 58A as it's being rolled out. The only site we have at this time in Michigan, is at the Detroit Arsenal in the city...

I see that Lea County has numerous license applications, pending before the FCC to add new microwave backhaul sites throughout the county. Likewise, a few of the existing microwave sites are being upgraded as well. Are they planning to move over to the New Mexico DTRS? 73's Ron

When the site first went on the air for testing it was 3.52, now that it's being networked with it's neighbors, it's 3.53. I suspect that site 3.52 maybe a single or simulcast cell that is planned for Zone 3. 73's Ron

L3 Harris Technologies trunking systems only use AES-256 encryption, and they usually like to encrypt all law enforcement talkgroups. Was encryption a big topic in the proposal presented to city council? 73's Ron

You are correct! They are live talkgroups, and being used by the Oakland County and MPSCS Techs. Once their exact use is determined, we then make the changes accordingly in the database. 73's Ron

I believe it. These statewide trunking systems are usually a multi-year project to plan, coordinate, construct, and buildout. The state of Michigan took 4-5 years to fully complete their system, and they are still adding new sites, and simulcast cells to the system every year, mostly to improve...
