396xt software uniden

I'm dusting off my 396xt and want to reprogram it. I have freescan but wondering if this is the best software out there or if there is something better. The price is right for this software but if there is a beeter package out there I don't mind spending a few bucks.

Got a new 396XT and scanner literate. Used the Butel to program before to load an older Uniden. What are the gotchas for this scanner. With the other free software work instead of buying the Butel? Got the demo Butel loaded now. Looking to load LA, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego mostly...
