If you have already downloaded and installed the EZ Scan application from the whistlergroup.com website
as of 2/6/18, please update to the latest release using the pc app > Check for PC Application Updates.
This will address many of the compatibility issues of the newly complied application with Win 10

If you have not downloaded and installed the EZ Scan application from the whistlergroup.com website
as of 2/6/18, please download and install by going to www.whistlergroup.com/pages/downloads
Once you have installed, please check for update using the pc app > Check for PC Application Updates.

New with Version 3.23 - February 18, 2018
Fixed issue that could contribute to file corruption in certain circumstances.
Fixed a library import issue where alpha tags on conventional objects would import with only the first character of the string.
Fixed an issue with copying or moving audio files from the SD card to the computer where the Overwrite All button was not being honored when recordings that match those being copied already exist in the destination folder.

The interruption and the issues that followed are the result of an unexpected security level change causing us to use a new compiler that supports the new security levels, With the new compiler there were a lot of changes in the language resulting in functions and syntax used either no longer exist, or have changed.

We will continue to address issues when they are identified and appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.

Bug reports should include the EZ scan version, PC operating system, and a description or screenshot of the issue.

Again, thank you for your patience and understanding.

Wendy quick question.... have yall solved the windows 10 issue with the pc not recognizing the cable after the win 10 updates? I haven't been able to update my scanner for a few months after the big update

You have to set the driver to allow an unsigned version.. look back thru the posts, its about a year old, but its available.. once you do the settings, all will work as before

The version 3.23 Wendy posted is for the TRX-1 AND TRX-2 EZSCAN PC programs but same release notes for the WS 1080/1088 and WS 1095/1098 2.33 EZSCAN PC programs.

You are Correct! The new update has NOT fixed anything with the Broken Font
and Size issue.

There have been numerous documented posts since they started to Fix
the software, but this Bug seems to keep being missed?

Any Feedback on this would be appreciated. This has been reproduced by
numerous People.

I just reprogrammed a TRX-1 and a WS-1088 and had no issues with either of the EZ Scan updated versions. Win 10 Creator Edition. All good here.

Broken Font and Size

Using Win 10.

This Screen Capture is exactly what it has been doing since any of the Updates!

It seems some people are having this issue and a few others have not.?

What Version of Windows are you using?

My issues are occurring with Windows 10 Pro version.

Scaling and small Fonts

Thank you for the reply, but no information is being provided to correct the issue.most
Scaling may be the problem, but the program is the one which must adjust? not
the end user?

The program remains totally unresponsive for end users on Most Windows 10
Platforms!!

I had the font problem on one Windows 10 PC but not the other. The fonts are very
very small and hard to read. There is a work around for this that I read last week and
I tried it and it does work. It involves going into (right clicking) on the icon on your
desktop that launches the Whistler EZ Scan and you just have to make 2 adjustments
in Properties.

I do not have the exact details in front of me at the moment but I read it on one of the
forums (might have been the RS 668 forum). Anyway - I tried the work around and it
worked. The fonts are back to normal size again.

Here is the work around I mentioned earlier. This is verbatim from Whistler Wendy.

This is the exact procedure I followed as a work around to fix the small font problems
on the EZ Scan upgrades and it worked.

"Hi everyone -

We are looking into some compatibility issues with some Win 10 operating systems and will have a universal fix after it has been tested on more pc’s In the meantime please follow the steps below and it should correct many of the issues that have been reported with Win 10.

Right click on the shortcut and select Properties > Compatibility > and under settings check the box for Override high DPI scaling behavior, then select System in the drop down box and hit Apply.

I tied the work around and that seems to work. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but my windows scaling was set to 125%.

Running the suggested 2/18/18 check for update, receiving the following error:

"There was an error getting the current version information from the web site.
Socket Error #10060 Connection timed out."

As this thread is about, version 3.23. try installing 3.23 and see what happens.

A new problem for EzScan that I'm dealing with (or existing problem that was manageable before but blew up since the recent updates) are redirected folders on Win7. (Haven't had a chance to test on Win10 yet). This doesn't matter for any home user or personal computer user, but for business-related computers, there might be a GPO that redirects the Desktop and My Documents to a folder on a file server somewhere. With laptops, Sync Center then keeps everything in sync between online and offline mode. EzScan now does NOT like the My Documents being redirected. Updating the Library, Copying Config to Scanner, Save Config to Archive etc. all throw random problems/errors, or outright fail.

I'm about to move this particular laptop to Win10 in a week or so (also with redirected folders) so we'll see how it behaves there, and if this is just a Win7 issue, I won't care anymore, but a heads up if anyone else cares. If this issue persists with Win10, I will definitely bring it up.

edit: this is for a WS1098. Problem came up as soon as I updated to these recent new versions.

I'd like to see the Auto power on timer option added to the pc app. I have to turn it on and set the timer everytime I upload something new into the trx-1 with the app. Other than that it's working fine for me with Win 10.
