You were hearing Gulf clean-up related comms? That is a good catch. I think I am too close to hear them though I do hear a lot of "machine gun" sounding signals on the 25 Mhz freqs.

at times yes, miss/NG also and some Florida parks comms on 44.76=tar on beachs.25.xx is gulf of mex comms ,but i think some are from west texas/new mexico.oil boats go by ship names.25.325 is a cothan ale/usb freq so in fm mode it will sound like machine gun.

Most skip from north

7/16 was the most skip for me since around July 4th weekend. I was able to look at the Tropospheric Ducting Forecast for VHF & UHF Radio & TV map and expect this. Oddly, we had a 3.6 mag. earthquake at 5:02 AM 15 mi away that lasted 3.5 secs here. Shook my place like thunder does.

What are these 2 freqs?: In the evening I heard 47.82 156.7 pl and they spoke french only. 156.7 pl was semulcast on 47.94 156.6 pl. I've heard this a few times on good skip days. This was not simplex but it sounded like radios due to the static after each party spoke. I heard the same thing (both parties) on each freq. RR db searches for them result in MS Utils only for 47.94 and for 47.82 several US states came up incl 110.9 PL Ministry of Nat Rscs Lowband - Non-Fleetnet Ministry of Nat Rscs Ontario, CA.

Others I can't figure out where & what:

47.5800 "MI NY RdC"? CSQ: 192.8 pl '...to drop off', 136.5.pl 'pick her up at arboretum' (Northern or Canadian accent), 88.5 pl 'car 3 at Snodgrass', 186.2 pl DMJ area (Northern or Canadian accent).

47.6200 "pgEmPrDt"? CSQ: 162.2 pl '(cow and horse health calls) animal welfare program' (ND or Canada accent), also 136.5 pl was clear w/no accent but didn't say anything descriptive.

Overall I heard a couple of the typical MO HP but not much. Most of this was from 10a-12p ET. Most of the voices 7/16 sounded like they were form the north central US and possibly canada. However, 45.48 with 131.8 pl had strong southern accents. All I could make out of that was...'I am 10-8...I'll drop medicine off...taking them to Woodland...pulled up in his yard'. It also had 107.2 pl but I couldn't make out what was said.
