Took advantage of a beautiful Autumn day here in Michigan and pedaled to a local park to enjoy the Fall colors.
Brought along the PL-600 portable RX... listened for about 15 minutes and heard the following beacons:
28214 W6REK CA
28216 N7MA ID
28230 W7PFR WA
28231 NG7I WA
28260 K7DBN UT
28300 K6FRC CA
All had good clear sigs.

Ben hearing AMers on 10 here too many beacons too.Heard them on my Pro 2006!

Love 10 meters it really gives the Tech class a chance to get some HF in ...............

30 years ago, I had a 3-element 10-meter yagi strapped to the chimney on a tv rotator, connected to a TS850 running 100 watts SSB.
One Sunday, I started working to the west. When I began, the "spot" was on Chicago. As the afternoon wore on, the spot moved west, requiring small adjustments in the antenna heading. By late afternoon, I was chatting with some stations in the San Francisco area.
I was tired, hungry, needed the bathroom . . . so I announced I was going to clear.
Then I hear: "KB2GOM, for a short before you clear."
I replied: "Short, go."
"This is ZL1UFO, Christchurch, New Zealand; you're the loudest thing on the band."
We swapped cards. Wanna guess what was on his?
A flying saucer.
9,000 miles (I think) on 100 watts.

I believe it. I worked northern Mexico several times, from Western WA, on 11 Meters, Channel 29 USB, stock radio, 12 watts PEP, 3 element wire beam. This was around 1990 or so. When the ionosphere is cooperating, even lower powers can go far with a decent antenna.
At this time 1226UTC on 29.620 MHz FM I'm hearing a QSO between French speaking ops with F prefixes. I heard the repeater ID as KQ2H/R and it's almost full quieting. Very exciting. Need to buy a 10m FM capable radio hihi.
