I heard some young guys talking about "red raider" and stuff one time. When a real aircraft showed up on freq I didn't hear them anymore, guess they got scared.

BTW, I believe this is the universal multi-com frequency for air-air chit chat.

It is fun sometimes.

This morning I heard the first comms I've heard on that freq. when a nice female voice was talking to someone I couldn't hear about becoming more attractive after being married because he now got asked out a lot and that she was jealous of the person she was talking to because their significant other was flying with them. All in all about 45 seconds worth of half of a conversation is all I've heard so far.

I've heard recently on 123.45 what sounded like two pilots playing tag in the air....

Although there is another frequency specifically allocated for aircraft-to-aircraft transmissions (122.75, I think it is...shows you how much it gets used), we pretty much always use 123.45. I guess it's easier for us to remember. We pilots aren't really all that smart, you know!

My Location is 50 miles North of Palm Springs

Have listen for three days nothing here.

I am right under the flight path for LAX/Ontario and all the smaller airports.

It would help on a wide area search like this if everyone states their QTH. What you hear on the east may be on another freq on the west.

Does anyone have a good air to air freq for here in So Cal???

Thanks

Jim

A few days ago I heard three different guys in a conversation that sounded like a bunch of truckers on CB channel 19 - southern drawls, CB lingo and all!

While I was home for spring break, I heard that exact same thing. They were even playing some country music over the radio and talking of parties. It was a good listen for a good laugh.
