The power adapter that comes with the PCR 2500 indicates 10.5 volts. Anyone successfully power this unit with 12 volts? (not car battery/alternator 13.8 volts, but true regulated 12 volt power supply) ???

amps are not volts. One is a measure of current, the other of difference of potential.

I just found the manual, and it specs 12 volts power supply requirement +- 15%, 10.2 volts low side, supplied with 10.5 volt adapter, cutting it close?

I would use the CP 12L adapter for car if you need to power from the lighter socket.

For powering from a regulated power supply, I suggest to buy a CP-12L for some 20 dollars, disassemble it and rearrange the electronics in a hobby box to accept open cables from the regulated supply and the pin for inputting the power to the 2500 can be dome the with the pin provided.

be careful, its an expensive unit that can be damaged easily.

Hello,

I was running my R-2500 directly off the car's electrical system during trips without any problem. The spec says up to 13.8 volts on the high side so the normal car voltage of 13.6 should be okay.

The power system for my receivers uses Anderson PowerPoles. I have a MFJ 3A power supply that can run several receivers that terminates into a pair of PowerPoles. I also have Lighter Plugs that terminate the same way. With a 4 connector distribution block and cables with coaxial power plugs at one end and PowerPoles on the other I can run various configurations. I find it is very flexible.
