...is very active again this late afternoon. Our usual Russian lady and friends having a *long* chat. I think they own this frequency. :lol:

I came in at about 2345 and it's now 0031 and they've been going almost non-stop. Funny, the lady just let out a big sigh over the air. Perhaps she's a bit winded. :roll:

13125 is a duplex ship to shore frequency known as ITU Channel 1217 and is paired with 12278. If you're hearing simplex traffic it is likely Varna Radio (LZW) in Bulgaria.

Based on time of day and propagation, I would think this station transmits from eastern Russia. Does Varna Radio have a remote transmitter? I'm only hearing it during the afternoon and evening when the band is open to that region. A similar station is using 13131 and at night the Russians can be heard on 8806. I rarely pick up utilities from Europe, so if they are really transmitting from Bulgaria then that is one huge signal!
