A proper antenna will be neither capacitive nor inductive at the desired frequency. The antenna will be resonant so it will be a resistive load only.

Close,
Appear as a Resistive load, not "BE" a resistive load.

The difference is subtle, but could cause you confusion as you lean more.

Chick, if you're trying to put me on a guilt trip... FAIL. My usual sarcasm concerning Rat Shack points to crippled heads that buy that crap, that's why Amphenol has always been the connectors of choice. If you won't order on line, oh well.

N_Jay, your comments are always appreciated. My sensitivity training is done with sandpaper, thick skin and callouses allow for handling your abrasive remarks without injury.

Try it sometime Chick, you're just a bit overly sensitive and misunderstand the direction of certain remarks. Now go back and read that first line again... peace brother? Yeah, I'm disabled.

I have often said that anyone who can figure out a system that works 100% of the time would be a multi-billionaire. Even the best antenna system depends on things like band conditions to work properly. Experimentation is half the fun with any radio related hobby, so have at it. :D
