I have been monitoring the Statewide Intersysten for many years. In the WNY area, has anyone else noticed it is being used liss by agencies?
155.370 Use

Why use 155.370 when agencies like TACN and others are building systems that have statewide talkgroups for the same use.
What the heck does TACN have to do with New York State?
There is no "statewide" system in NY, therefore analog frequencies like 155.370 and 155.475 remain viable interop resources, along with V/U/7/8CALL/TAC.

Yea but the OP was specifically talking about Western New York State use of 155.370 also known as NYLAW 1, not TACN or any other states Statewide systems. Your reply has nothing to do with the OP's post...

Your post has literally zero to do with what the OP is asking. You're posting again, just to post, vs letting the locals answer who may actually have an answer. A problem we have several others on this forum as well. Your post provides zero details to the original poster's question AND does nothing to provoke an actual conversation.
TACN has no coverage in New York, and doesn't apply to this. Nor are there any other statewide trunked systems in NY state. Again, the locals know this.

Like I said many states that use statewide systems have replaced this and when NY ever moves out of the 1970's maybe they will also.

As for NYLAW1 or 155.370 it is still used but not as much as you have seen. Alot of interagency is done on various TLMR systems in CNY and WNY. I still hear some counties do radio checks every morning from one of my receivers. I also hear folks on the channel here and there normally NYSP talking to another agency. Its no were near used like it was in the past but you can still hear traffic. I know most counties still have it at a site.

I get occasional chatter on the freq and other related freqs. When things are slow I let the 200 scan them and log/record in Proscan. Never bothered tracking down unless it was something interesting.

I am not in a Nursing Home I still work a 32 to 40 hour week because my health is very good and I enjoy what I do and I expect an Apology for that unwarranted attack I did not cut you or anyone else. I was just making a general comment as that frequency is starting to be less and less used for the reason I listed. Running EMS and Fire Calls for 40 years taught me the more active you stay the better your health.
I just wish for those here have the health I have when they get to my age.

Yes, and so does Florida. But Florida, Tennessee, and Illinois have nothing to do with the use of 155.37 in New York State.

Have I noticed it being used less *recently*? Not at all. I don't even recall the last time I heard traffic on "The Point". I actually had to go look to see if I was even scanning it anymore.
Compared to the late 70s when my grandpa used to let me babysit his scanner when he went on vacation? Absolutely. Pretty sure my one-page written list of frequencies (all 10 of them!) had a line for "The Point" with a notation "IMPORTANT!!!". Traffic wasn't frequent, but it WAS interesting. Not sure what happened to all that traffic but I have to assume it all went to phone calls.
I will park a scanner on that frequency for a few days and see if I hear anything. My bet is that I won't.

I know what you mean, it used to be in all my scan list on every VHF radio and back in the day between cars and agencies alike. Times changed, most everyone back in the day was vhf, probably now cell phones, always on internet/microwave for cad between psaps, console links, consolidated dispatch, interop on wide area systems. I heard handful of usage past summer in my listening area, most I remember with agencies that are working with state troopers on scene of prolonged incidents without a countywide system that provides a tac channel involving troopers and local agency, heard nysp helo in a search and similar incidents utilizing the sp helo on multiagency incidents beyond the typical that would use sp car to car 665, an agencies repeater went haywire for a bit so they said "switch to NYLAW".
How about we keep it to people from the area replying. This was asked in the NY forum, not Illinois/Tennessee/wherever else.
