168.8625 $001 is the input, radios are set for $F7E receive on the output of 164.550.

In analog it is CSQ on both the input and output.

I suspect the fixed wing spotter I heard was using talk-around. Majority of aerial surveillance ops I receive use simplex-only frequencies.
