I've been hearing this noise the last couple days/nights.

It comes in with the 167.9 pl tone, so I'm pretty sure it's not some sort of interference.

Anywho...anyone ever heard it?

It will run 4, maybe 5 times...then quit. There may be a 10 second pause, then it will go again 4 or 5 times.

My guess is that it is digital encryption though I never heard it with two tones at the beginning.
167.9 is a common fed PL.

weird noise on 153.6350 MHz

I get some weird sounds on that frequency like all the time. It will stop for a couple seconds then it will start up again. Sometimes you can hear what sounds like some morse code.

I would tend to guess it's telemetry of some sort. Perhaps a radio site reporting voltages, temperatures, etc. Too short for voice transmissions.

I suppose it could also be a tracking transmitter.

Pretty sure it has nothing to do with encryption. this is an analog frequency around here and that does not sound like analog encryption to me. besides, the ststic parts are too short to be voice.

i was thinking it was some sort of alarm, notification, etc. i just wasnt sure.
