167.7125 NAC 167?

Good day all

I was picking up 167.7125 MHz with NAC 167 in Gainesville FL. DSD logged several unencrypted talkgroups, 4095, 65535 and 1. I couldn't make out what the guy was saying but I did hear someone said "KEB280 the time now is 1805".

I've attached the DSD recording in a zipped file and does anyone know what agency it could be?

167.7125 with $167 does tend to point to the FBI

The interesting part is the 320 for a RID
KEV320 is/was the Tampa Field Office - maybe a coincidence since you are hearing KEB280
which is more likely KEV280 and the Jacksonville FO of the FBI

Had 4095 pop up on 167.3875 the other day in Jacksonville. I have been hearing what sounded like control channels on same freq. Weak and always at night. It transmitted no data and was confirmed by a guy in St.Johns County with dsd as broadcasting a strong signal down there,but still no data or nac. It disappeared and then I started getting the higher tgs on Jax FBI Disp N167 this week. They used to just use tg 1all the time.

yep! indeed it is the FBI.
It appears that field units (RID 3224XXX) use talkgroup 1 with AES encryption, while the dispatch (RID 320) transmits in the clear using the "all call" talkgroup of 65535.
I wonder why dispatch keeps saying "KEV280 the time is 0231" / "KEV280 time is 2035" etc..

I'll try aiming my yagi toward St.John county and will report back if I'm picking up anything.

Here with 167.7125, when it is not being used, the repeater randomly transmits a quick burst of TDU and PDU packets out. Although I'd love to be able to decode those packets.

RID 322XXXX is FBI, RID 320 is KEV280. I'm unsure about RID 880XXXX, however.

Some FBI FO (Field Offices) have also begun dispatching for the USMS which explains your 880xxxx RIDS

also interesting that the Radio Techs used 320 for the RID at the FO, here in Boston it is a standard 307xxxx RID

I was able pick up something in the clear yesterday. Although a bit broken up, I did hear a few mentions like Daytona, Speedway and Flyers.. It could very well be the Daytona 500 event that happened yesterday. I was quite impressed that a VHF handheld or mobile can hit a repeater that far out!

Likely a linked network of Repeaters, not someone from Daytona hitting the Gainsville Repeater directly.

the Jacksonville FO does cover the Daytona area thru the Daytona Beach RA
