I have been receiving 169.5750 $949 pretty regularly the past several weeks here in southwest PA. I have it listed as an FBI frequency but I can not find any mention of the NAC. I don't know if it's coincidence or not but we have had multiple presidential visits in the area the past several weeks that coincide with the intercepts.
Anyone shed any light

@druhe Have you been able to log any radio IDs and talkgroups?

As a side note, that NAC was mentioned as a PA Statewide P25 system NAC though not in the VHF band, lust curious if it could be connected in some way since there isn't any mention of federal use of this NAC in the RR Wiki.

$949 would be consistent with PA-STARNET P25, and the freq is also plausible for that.

No RIDS at this time, but will be paying closer attention. As for it being part of PA StarNet, a search of the database yielded no joy. Good idea however

I still believe it is somehow connected to the PA system, TGs and RIDs will tell you for sure.

As the guilty party who caused any frequencies to be listed at all for Labrador (Canada), I'm unfortunately all too aware that just because it isn't listed in the DB, doesn't mean it isn't right. Keep an eye on it. ;)

With that being really up in federal band I have to suspect an image of a lower frequency. You could be close to a site and getting over loaded.

PA-STARNET is confirmed to be using frequencies between 162MHz and 171MHz on multiple known sites. It's plausible it's the correct frequency.

169.5750 is used by many many agencies (Not just the FBI) , varies by Region/Area/State, but the only known PA is/was a $293 in the Pittsburg area back in 2016 and thought to be an Air Base, but nothing more ever came out of it.

$949 as others mention is pretty close to what the Commonwealth uses for the statewide NET, altho nothing in the FCC and the NTIA when sharing with State/County/Local governments, generally requires them to have an FCC license on those frequencies. Nothing found in the FCC

The other item to help nail down who is could be is to get some RIDS and match them to StarNet or 34xxxxx FBI or any other known variety of agencies

and the other option is try a different make/model and see if you hear it also to rule out an image from a licensed StarNet

This has been a recent development, I first noticed it around 11 Sept 2024, I'm ~20 miles from the Flight 93 crash site, thinking it was related. There has been a Trump rally plus Harris has been in the area several times now. Since I've posted here there has been several more hits recorded but no RIDS. I'm using a 996P2 with ProScan to do my recording / logging. I've reconfigure the 996P2, I'll see if that makes a difference. I also have DSD+ parked on the frequency, now its the waiting game
