Rptr sites have been mentioned in the past as:
Groton, Bolton, Sterling and Hartford.
Input is 163.9375. I would say 9375 is a common CT input with
multiple outputs. Where 171.8000 actually is, is still something to track down
Other outputs on the same input are:
167.5125 Hartford Area
169.9500 Sterling, New London, North Stonnington, Bozrah
The one common input, does cause confussion in trying to ID where the sites are :twisted:

thanks for the information. i also heard 165.7500 last night but didnt get a pl.
i have been searching between 163-174 for the past two days to see if i come
up with anything. twice this morning i heard what sounds like a short burst on
173.0375 but thats been it. i also searched 412-420 without any luck.

Expand your Federal UHF to be 406-420 and if it CAN [some scanners won't] try 400-420 Mhz

You should have checked back in your own posting history! You asked the same thing last year. Does it still ID with "this is KEX600 New Haven"? I hear the same ID on 166.700 but never heard any activity.

thought i heard 172.425 last year. my mistake, 171.800 is very loud i hear it every day.

i had it for only two weeks so every thing is new for me.

171.8000 is a repeated FBI/US Customs Shared channel in new haven. the only reason i know this is because about 4 years ago i heard customs and fbi doing a raid with no encryption P25 on that channel, and it blew my mind, there was no encryption, opps...

listening to 171.9875 in the clear. p25 non enc with$167 in ct
any encryption and can you id the voice activity?
they mentioned team, unit numbers, locations, what type of vehicle they were following,
how many individuals at different locations. they would talk about every 5 min. it was
all in the clear. i dont want to mention locations of vehicles they were watching or where
they were. the signal was strong and in the clear. i been searching 163.600 to 174 for
about a hour when i heard this. it sounded like more than one agency was involved.

George, I noticed you were searching 163.600 to 174.000 you might want to expand down to 162.6000 [just above the NWS] and the little forgotten [because it's just below the NWS] 162.000-162.3750

Could you see if you are also getting 171.4375 $167 at the same time as 171.9875. I've heard the .4375 channel referred to as the Providence 1 repeater, wondering if these two could be related.

I heard it from here in Milford and it was too weak to be in Ct. so RI is probably the location. I heard both sides fine. It had to be a repeater. I am talking about the .9875 freq.

like they were next to me. one location was a park they would meet at.
it could of well been a joint task force. it sounded like the t.v show
u.s marshalls talking. the freq and the 167 showed up every time.
i do have an outside antenna about 8 ft above my roof.
they named two places about 20min to 30 min from where i live.
