Hey folks, I've been trying to find a monitor device (like ic-r3 or ic-r20) to test range on video conference installations. Video would be great but voice will suffice. The only combination unit I came across is the ICOM R3 but it's no longer distributed or sold. I have looked at the R20 and most have told me it's tough to tune. It must be mobile and in the 2.5GHz range. Anyone know of alternatives? Thanks.

Thanks

Thanks, no, I haven't as I'm not certain it's a good solution. If it's my only solution without spending thousands on gear then I will take a look. Never crossed my mind so thanks for uncrossing it.

I think you are on the right track as the IC-R3 seems to fit your requirements. You can probably find one on the used market as many hams and scanner listeners are starting to sell off a lot of their surplus equipment in order to pay off bills in this dumpy economy so you may find a good deal if you are persistent.
