I was in Bailey on Friday and heard CSP using 2 Adam communications, talkgroup 2520 (CSP 2A Dispatch). I saw the patrolman and heard the transmission for the traffic stops, but I"m confused. Bailey, in Park County, is a 6B District. They were also using Pueblo in the communication, which could merely be the Dispatch base for 2A. Any ideas?

Troopers in Park County are dispatched by the CSP Comm Center in Pueblo, Troopers in Summit County are dispatched from Craig and Clear Creek County are dispatched by Denver talk about confusing for three connected counties.

..

One troop split over 3 different dispatch centers.....Yet Gilpin County (6D) has their own troop. Seems like CSP could have organized it a little better.

OK, maybe that explains it. Is the other side of the divide for the State trunked not on digital? Last time I went, in December, the control channels in the I-70 corrider over there were DOA.

That is correct CSP in Summit, Eagle, Garfield and Mesa Counties are still on VHF. But DTRS control channels thru that area are beginning to come on line but there is limited to no traffic on them so far.

Sorry, your reply is obvious. Is there any digital on the west of the divide that you are aware of?

Yes you might want to check RR Database here for details and talkgroups.

Montrose, some DOW, some CDOT, some CSP car to car and Moffatt County will be coming online soon.

Park County is no longer in 6B. Not too long ago some of the districts were reconfigured. Park Co. when from 6B to 2A, Cheyenne County went from 1A to 2C Lamar

The only reason Gilpin has their own troop is because they are funded solely by the Gaming Commission to patrol Gilpin County. Before the days of gaming in Blackhawk and Central City, the area was covered by 6A

Thanks for all the feedback. I noticed the State map for CSP here has been changed, I should have checked that earlier. "Ahead of the power curve" is appropriate for this site!!

Hi Evergreenwaterman,

Actually checking the CSP map in the RR Database earlier would not have done any good. I only updated the map after reading TROOP's information about the district changes earlier in this thread. I try my best to keep the map up to date, but I need to hear about changes before I can edit the map. By the way, thank you TROOP for keeping us informed on the changes within the CSP districts. With your help I have made 2 changes so far to the district map, your assistance has been appreciated!

The chart used to have bold lines dividing the areas for the dispatch centers. Since it has been updated, the bold lines are off.

The following are withing the Montrose Dispath area:

4A
5A
5C

I'd like to toss in my `kudos' to TROOP *and* Todd-NG for keeping the CSP district map up to date, too.

I *do* have a question though... Off and on I have seen the occasional district map for CDOT but they never seem to either `stick around' or when they do they seem to have `problems' with what they show VS what one hears and sees. Is there *possibly* an accurate one out there?

Hi Chris,

Yes, you are right. The map that I uploaded actually used bold lines to separate the six districts rather than the dispatch centers coverage. I have since uploaded a revised map showing the dispatch centers coverage per your request. Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow  , as I have said in the past, your help has been greatly appreciated!

Note: The new map will show it was updated on 4-12-05 in the bottom left corner. If any other date shows up it means that it was stored in your temporary internet files and needs to be cleared out before the updated map will appear (at least that's what keeps happening with my computer).
