2 wildland fires in Fergus Co.

2 fires burning in Fergus County today. Both reported after noon time, when the winds really picked up.
First one is on Porphyry Peak area in Judith Mtns NE of Lewistown. Air attack and several helocopters worked this one.
At same time reports of smoke up NW of Winifred on PN Bridge Rd/ Judith River Putting up lots of smoke with the strong winds.
Most of air assets moved from the Porphyry Peak Fire to the PN Bridge Rd/Judith River Fire.
Initially lots of rotary wing aircraft , then later air tankers making drops.
124.925 am air attack.
151.22 nfm air to ground
168.4 nfm air to ground on the Porphyry Peak Fire.
helocopters refueling at Lewistown.
Airtankers coming from Billings and Helena, Lewistown can only handle SEATS.
updates as I hear them.

The rural fire departments in Fergus County use the Fergus County DES frequency for communications.
Was very active this afternoon.
153.755 nfm with 162.2 pl tone.

Not much activity today, less winds, cool weather overnight, and lower daytime temperatures.
Air attack and a few helicopters working today.
