00:00 - 08:28 (CDT) Dead

First signal heard was a ham repeater on 29.620 at 08:29 local (CDT). Did not catch callsign.

30.000/150.0 - US Military w/ full scale signal at 08:30.

More hams on 29.560 and 29.640 at 08:45.

Fire call on 33.700 at 08:51 then police on 42.520 at 08:52.

From 08:53 through 11:30 the band has been open with good signals up to 47 mhz and with the 42 mhz police stations being the strongest (as usual). It will be a loss when those Indiana and Nebraska low band transmitters are no more.

33.7 is a fairly common fire dispatch frequency in Western Pennsylvania. I know of three or four counties who still use it.

Even though many highway patrol agencies are moving off lowband, there are still plently of states still using it. Many DOT agencies still use 47 MHz, and there are a few highway patrols still on 39, 42 and 44 MHz.

I think it will be a long while before EVERYONE'S off low band.

That's true. I was commenting on the email that I received regarding migration of Indiana off the band because I hear them almost every time the band is open.
