I apologize in advance for the poor-quality exterior pics... had some difficulty getting my camera to cooperate with the sun angles today.

This is a newly-completed low-profile install in a 2012 Honda Crosstour EX. This was intended to be as stealthy as possible given the amount of equipment installed, and I have been pretty satisfied so far. Microphones were removed for the pictures so you can see the radios better.

Equipment installed:

Uniden BCD536HP (DIN-mounted with an aftermarket stereo)
Motorola XTL5000 O5 (VHF) remote with VRS750 Vehicle Repeater
Motorola XPR5550 (UHF) remote
Motorola XTVA with W3 control microphone
Panasonic CF-19 with Ledco Dock and RAM base (not pictured)

Antennas are a VHF 1/4 Wave for the XTL5000, a UHF Sharkfin for the XPR5550, and embedded covert antenna for the Scanner and XTVA, all of which are performing well except for the XTVA, which primarily is used for 800mhz without the mobile antenna.

Impressive indeed! Super clean install! Did the radios "just fit" in that slot or did you have to mod the area that the 2 Motos are placed?

Either way, it turned out great! I would like to see a shot with the mics connected as well, to see where you place them when they are connected.

Thanks for the compliments guys...

The interior (as far as the dash is concerned) is the same as the Accord. I pulled the factory radio and replaced it with a double-din kit. I then pulled the whole pocket assembly out from under the radio area. There is a ton of space back there, but I opted to remote-mount the radios and made a custom faceplate out of ABS plastic for the heads, which I painted matte black.

Very nice setup, I like the custom work you have done to fit everything where its easily see and use. You mention that you are running a VRS on the XTL5000 and I was wondering which antenna you are using for it. I was looking at STI-CO antennas and they make a dualband VHF/800 whip that may help with your 800 XTVA issue. It would not work if you are already using the VHF antenna on your UHF VRS. The other possibility is to replace the euro antenna with a multiband antenna. Just some thoughts , but I really like the low profile setup you already have.

I'm using a UHF 1/4 wave inside the car for the VRS. It transmits at 300mw so it doesn't really need a ground plane or substantial antenna.

I looked at several antennas including the Sti-Co and another, but to be honest I rarely use the XTVA and when I do it is for 800mhz and I don't need the external antenna. As often as I use it, it didn't justify the extra cost.

Is that the dashboard adapter from Crutchfield? I was considering replacing the factory radio in my 09 accord and mounting my 536 under the radio.

That has to be the slickest setup I have ever seen!. Did not even notice the scanner as it blended in with the car radio right underneath it. Nice work on the Motorola's under the scanner. Everything fits so neat and looks great. To be honest out of all the setups that have been posted in the years, your install to me is one of the best. I realize that there is not 50 radios, laptop, GPS, etc but just enough to get the job done.

Congrats!!!!

It is a Metra 99-7874 Dash Kit. I mistakenly ordered the Scosche dash kit in the beginning and realized that I did not like the quality and finish of it, so I went with the Metra kit instead.
