The bands have been wonky the past few days here too. Some sporadic European CB/11m activity, 25-28 MHz Latin American comms...as others have indicated, but above 10m has been quiet for the most part, except local lowband activity (of which there are only a handful of users, mostly military, legacy state systems and sometimes I can hear the King William County fire dispatch simulcast directly, but not all the time. Department of Corrections on 39.120 MHz 136.5 Hz and 39.500 MHz CSQ, SIRS on 39.540 MHz CSQ, plus the VDOT system and a handful of lowband business users (that are local to me).
Hopefully activity will pick back up soon!

I read it wrong too then. Today looks like it might be more of the same.

The band seemed better today below 28mhz, but even 10m showed some signs of activity. Did not log anything specific, but did hear the Mexico tax services on 25.695 and 26.765 AM, and stations from the UK were heard on 27.375 and 27.425 on LSB. Hope you guys fared better.

Well it's finally back! I haven't posted logs the last few days because it's only been a couple of CHP channels on 45MHz, nothing worth noting.

Yesterday the Mexican taxi cabs were coming...decently.
I took a quick video clip (using one of the excellent W3HFU KiwiSDR online receivers).

Nice! I have used W3HFU also and a couple of other Kiwi SDRs. HFU has 2 or 3 Kiwi receivers with different antennas, as well as a generous time limit.

Good man. W3HFU is the same guy who runs the HFUnderground forum and the HFUnderground Wiki (among others, he also sells a FCC Part 15 legal 22 meter band beacon kit (for the 13553 kHz - 13567 kHz band, where, under Part 15 of the FCC rules - specifically 15.225 - link here - the FCC legal output power is 4.6mW if I remember correctly - that is, with a regular 1/2 wave dipole antenna - there are a lot of ISM signals around the 13560 kHz / 13.56 MHz center frequency but the edges of the band are [usually] clear and are good spots for beacons. There are a good number of these things on the air now and they're completely legal - pretty neat stuff...but that's another tangent..) and he does a great job (I think anyway). He, along with everyone else who takes the time and money to put an online SDR up for public use really does a big favor to a lot of folks.

Agreed! Yep, one and the same as the HFU site. The bands were in better shape yesterday. Today is another matter.
