2067/2051?

I just stopped by the local RS today and noted that the PRO-2051 is on sale - possibly heading toward closeout. There were no boxes or manuals nearby to compare, but I did notice that the PRO-2051 has a silver face and more closely resembles the upcoming 2096 than the 2067.

Other than the finish, what are the differences between the PRO-2051 and the PRO-2067?

The 2067 was built by GRE, had alpha tags, ctcss/dcs for starters.

The 2051 is built by uniden, has preprogrammed state freqs. I played with one last week, but really didn't like the way it worked. You could tell it was a uniden and not a gre.


I owned a 2067 for a week, but took it back as the ctcss decode was wrong many times as well as a very bad rx. I could barely hear a signal five miles from a uhf repeater that I can hear for over 50 miles away on anything else.

Umm, Dave, when did you post this? Upcoming 2096??? It has been for sale longer than the Pro-2051. The Pro-2051 was just released at the beginning of this month. How could it be on closeout? It has not been on the market long enough to be "on sale" yet. The 2067...It hasn't been sold for years, I don't think anyone ever compared the 2051 to the 2067. The 2051 is more like the BCT8 than anything else. I am truely confused. :?
