2022 FIS Ski World Cup Women's Downhill (giant slalom & slalom) Championship

The Xfinity Killington Cup events begin on Friday, November 25 with the festival village, athlete bib presentation, live music, fireworks and more. The party rolls on through the weekend with Giant Slalom races followed by a concert on Saturday and Slalom races on Sunday. PAST FREQUENCIES:

Sorry for the delay in posting this, just been extremely busy the past 2 weeks with events. Here are the frequencies ( from 2017 ) of what was in the ICS Command/dispatch radios, and other stuff was in the 4 Uniden BCD996P2 scanners that were audio/video recorded.

NOTE 1: The below Killington ski area freqs are the old ones, as they will now be on their new DMR trunked system and/or DMR digital simplex.

NOTE 2: The last event they did prior to the pandemic, they got UHF rental radios from California, and they were simply programmed to Killington's (then) analog channel plan (channels 1 thru 6). I'm sure they will now be DMR trunked capable.

NOTE 3: The last event they did prior to the pandemic, the same above UHF rental radios also had (partial) channel plan from the Killington Ski Club, which is outlined below under ( BUSINESS – INTERNAL EVENT FREQS # 2: >>> listings C1 through C15 ). C stands for "Club", club channel 1, club channel 2, etc, etc. The Club channels/frequencies consist of channels 1 through 15.

NOTES 4:
* Green Mountain Concert Services (from VT) is the vendor for the event security, which they used their own (UHF rental radios) 1 UHF analog channel (below).
* Atomonic Professional Audio/Video Services (from VT): 464.825 simplex D155 and 467.850 simplex D074. Green Mountain Concert Services & Atomonic share the same rental radio vendor, so portables were last programmed with 2 UHF simplex channels (Atomonic & GMCS just picked one or the other to use).
* VT SP was law enforcement for the venue.
* Rutland Cnty Sheriff's only handled traffic control on Killington Rd.
* Killington's parking staff handled parking control.
* VHF is no longer used as I'm not there anymore with my VHF rental radios.
* V-TAC and U-TAC frequencies were never used at all in the 3 years I was there.

I tried to upload a few sample pictures of the amazing crowd of 20,000 spectators outside my window, but the original cell phone pic files are too large to upload to this server, as I get an website error.

memories:

Scrolling through the hundreds of pics from 2017, I just found my body camera video footage and cell pics from 11/25/17 at 3:53pm when a skier (unrelated to the World Cup event, he was publicly skiing on Killington mountain), who was extremely drunk, on the ski mountain, stole a Killington snowmobile that was parked by staff, drove it around the mountain trying to run over other skiers, and then crashed it into a tree. He then fled on foot and a foot pursuit started with Killington ski area staff, and then VT SP, as they had to get on the lift and get a ride up, and then shuttled over the area of the crash. I ran out out my building as the suspect was running down the ski trail behind my building. I reported to VTSP he was 40' right outside our side door and me & a Killington employee chased him and the Killington employee tacked him and we sat on him until VTSP arrived to our location. Dispatch to VTSP on property was Killington ski area Ch6 & VTSP Channel 2. He was arrested, handcuffed and walked out the side entrance out front of our building into a VTSP cruiser.

On Wednesday, November 16, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) officially gave us the green light to host the biggest race of the year over Thanksgiving Weekend, and we hope you’ll join us for the action. Eighty-seven of the best female alpine ski racers in the world, representing 20 countries, will descend on The Beast for two heart-pounding ski races, but the Heroic Killington Cup presented by Stifel is so much more than just a competition.

November 25-27 will be jam packed with activities kicking off Friday night with a fireworks display and athlete bib presentation. There will be live music throughout the weekend, including performances by Michael Franti, Noah Kahan, Stephen Kellogg and Dj Angie Vee. Catch a premiere of the latest Warren Miller flick, “Daymaker”, mix and mingle with Olympic athletes at the Rock The Dream fundraiser at the Pickle Barrel and dance the night away at the official Wobbly Barn afterparty presented by Bud Light Seltzer. Check out a full schedule of events here.

Tickets are required to access the venue on Saturday and Sunday. They are available starting at just $5 for general admission. Grandstand tickets are already sold out for Saturday, but we still have limited space in the Premiere Grandstand for Saturday and Sunday, as well as, a few VIP packages for Sunday are still available through the Killington World Cup Foundation. All ticket sales benefit the Killington World Cup Foundation, which funds winter sports infrastructure and provides opportunities to athletes around the region.

With winter weather finally arriving, there’s no better way to kick off the ski season than by experiencing the Heroic Killington Cup presented by Stifel. We will also be open for skiing and riding and this weekend will be your first chance to get a glimpse inside the new K-1 Base Lodge – nearly three years in the making!

Rental radios are Motorola XPR3500e hand-held portable radios, and confirmed are on UHF frequencies. I'm not physically there so no clue as to what UHF frequencies.

Just seeing this now.... I was there and at the event, fun couple days. Didn't even try to listen in on the scanner or Anytone HT. But thanks for the info CMP.... I need to read up on DMR and program my HT for their new system/freq's.

You mention the new system is DMR "trunked"? I did not know their is a "trunked" version of DMR? Excuse the dumb question, but I know nothing about dmr other than it always sounds HORRIBLE! Too much compression on it, I'm surprised LE uses it, I can barely understand them half the time, while the old UHF and normal Motorola and P25.. stuff sound perfect.

trunked means trunking. There is P25 trunking and DMR can also be in trunking mode as well. Trunking when someone talks, it's grabs an available frequency, and it can change when a person replies back to someone calling them. So a trunk tracking scanner is able to monitor the control channel (as an example) and the scanner is able to follow the conversation (even though the system changes to a different frequency), the scanner is able to follow. You won't be able to monitor their system with a Motorola portable unless you have the programming & trunk data, which is data entered inside the radio. Any trunktracking scanner, which is "DMR digital" capable, can monitor it.

For example, on a conventional DMR digital repeater system, there is Time Slot 1 and Time Slot 2. So with one physical repeater you can have 2 separate conversations at once. With Capacity Plus Trunking, you can have additional conversations making the system have more talking capacity, in simple terms.

Some DMR cool features from another ski area I know, they use XPR7550 series portables, which have GPS built into them. They can internally ping any radio in the fleet and find out where that person is, or locate a lost radio (on the slopes, as a few have fallen out of employee's pockets and fell into the snow). They also use direct call when they want to "ring" someone's radio to get their attention. They love the new digital capacity plus system which has excellent features, and better audio to/from dispatch, and to one another.

No more analog usage as we are told, all DMR digital now.

Got it, thanks! I fully understand how "trunking" works, I just never herd of DMR using trunking. But then again, like previously mentioned I know very little if anything at all about DMR or how it is used. ;)

Interesting, so I wonder if an Anytone 878 II pro (a dmr ht) can be programmed with the complete trunking info to monitor.... ? hmmmm gotta spend some time on this one day, which I never seem to have.
