Been using my Uniden 246t a few months and is nice little scanner for conventional systems.
Wilmington De still using Type 1 Motorola 800 trunked system.Wonder when they will
ever switch over to Del Statewide 800?

Just a tip...
Using ARC 246 software and importing data from RR board for Wilmington be sure to manually in software window to set custom block size at 12 on all blocks before uploading to your 246T.For some reason software defaults to Block 13.
My talkgroup id's were all screwed up but now work fine..

Hi Mark,
There has been some off line talk recently about their likely move to the state system post-rebanding.

They have licensed microwave links between the dispatch center and Talley tower and talley tower to their transmitter site.

I suspect they do not have upgradable radios to support re-banding and this will be a more cost effective move for them.

Hello,

Some WPD officers carry XTS3000 Model II radios. This model is upgradable. Not all of the officers have this model.

From what I have observed, it appears all WPD, WFD, Public works have the 3000's. Mobile units are astro. The only radios that I have seen that were not 3000's were the ones used by Downtown Visions. They have since bailed from the CITY system and are using 400MHZ handi-talkies

Ok, thanks for the info.

Maybe my assumptions about having un-upgradable radios is wrong, it was anan uneducated assumption.

Many other signs seem to point towards them gaining access to the state system in the future.
