@DJBio - The Ideal 4-way splitter is a passive device and you will lose approximately 7db of signal. A better solution is to use a multicoupler that has minimal (or zero) gain. Look around on ebay for an Electroline 2800 or 2802. If you go this route, make sure the power supply comes with the unit. Another alternative is to use a cable-tv amplifier/splitter.

For the feedline, consider using low-loss coaxial cable (e.g., LMR400). Some have used RG6 75ohm from their outdoor antenna to the multicoupler. Quad shield RG6 is a good solution. I run LMR400 from my outside antenna to my multicoupler. From there I use short pieces of RG6 to my scanners and SDRs. Easy solution with great results.

I see this one on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Electroline-...95066&sprefix=electroline+2802,aps,139&sr=8-3
And I am running RG6 quad shield trying to piece parts together as I am not working this time of the year so money is tight

That amplifier looks like a nice solution. Maybe others can comment on the noise figures and the gain. If your Discone has a SO-239 coax connector, you will need an adapter to feed your RG6 cable. Typically these are PL-259 to female F adapters. An example on Amazon:

Please note - some antennas have a female N-connector. Of course, you'll need to proper adapter for the RG6 cable.

It has the female to this PL-259 and I have a bnc to PL-259 to the antenna this is what I have connected to the antenna https://www.amazon.ca/BOOBRIE-Conne...9487958&sprefix=bmc+to+so-239,aps,109&sr=8-11

If you may obtain either another scanner or dongle in the future, consider an 8 port model. I use electroline 2800 8 port and am happy with it.

Had a 24 foot power pole delivered yesterday so I will have 20 feet above ground and about 9 foot 1 1/4” aluminum pipe with the discone antenna mounted to the top of the power pole
Need to get some ground wire and plate to put into the ground
And going to see what all else I can install on it for antennas as I am going to look into getting my amateur radio licence
