Start with trying a change from P25 Standard to Motorola Type II / P25.

Since there is info that both are correct, and you tried one that doesn't work, I bet the other will work.

Start Freescan click FILE >OPEN and navigate to where the file is. I generally unzip files to my desktop initially so that they are easier to find.

I would try the simple change of the system type which I bet clears up the issue.

As for unzipping to the desktop, some OSs don't like that at all.

I have tried all files sent and its same info I have or downloaded and or same options im choosing . For rwc I found out it has to be set (p25 one freq ) that stops finding control channel, however it just continually scans.

Im going to try another option Thurs , if it doesnt work im out of the scanner game and mailing back. Thanks to all that have tried to help!

try posting in the Arizona group for some assistance. There are many trunking systems around your area. If we can get one or two to trunk, its not the scanner then.

This is in the Arizona forum.

I wish I could help more, but I'm a PSR-500 owner who programs by hand, and I'm not familiar with Uniden's way of doing things, nor with any of the software programs.

There has to be someone here locally who actually has a 396XT who can take a look at your settings and try to figure out why it's not working for you.

Can you try setting up the Maricopa County system (try White Tanks and Thompson Peak), and see if any of the Sheriff or other county agency TG's work? Or can you try setting up the YRCS system (try North Mtn, South Mtn and Thompson Peak because White Tanks is more for I-10 west of the Valley), and see if any of the ADOT TG's work?

If that stops the message than most likely changing the System Type to "P25 Standard" will make it work.

white and thompson

ok this is the suggestion that kb7mib made. I have created the system, put in just the sites he thinks will wotrk, you are in search mode so anything will come in . no groups at this time.

ps5-500 file for surprise az

for kb7mib, this is a arc500 file for psr500. its the object oriented type rather than the uniden type, but both of my creations are the same. if you could temporarily import the file and see if it works for you, I would have a better idea of the file design for a uniden. Again I have only put it trunk frequencies, not talk groups as I want to search for any activity. Like you, programming for the "other scanners", is hard because I am looking for setting and don't know where they are at.

Surprise PD

If you are in Surprise and are trying to pick up Surprise PD try programming in the West Valley simulcast frequencies, believe most of their (Surprise) traffic derives from that site. Luke AFB has their own UHF trunked radio system, you should be able to download it easily. The fighter jets taking off from there are on 200 and 300 MHz AM. Here are only a few of the freqs you might want to monitor. Sells N TAC is 371.4, Sells E TAC 303.3, Sells S TAC 284.475. Those freqs used west of here at the Barry Goldwater bomb range. You will find LAFB VHF and UHF Tower and ground freqs here on RR.

He has all the frequencies for the RWC and Luke's trunked system. He is not getting any audio out of any of the TG's even when he sits on one. I'm not sure if it's an issue of not having the proper mode set, some other setting that isn't correct, some other internal
issue with the scanner, or external interference, that is preventing him from getting audio.
And Surprise uses both Simulcast G and the White Tanks IR full time. The White Tanks site won't have the multipath issues that Sim G has.

If you bought the radio used and it already contained data in it from a previous user you have to clean them out if you are programming in a different kind of system. I use Pro Scan and that's an option when you load in a new program. See if Free Scan offers that option somewhere. Worse comes to worse I can meet you somewhere.

Download the Luke radio system, delete all of the frequencies associated with the other Air Bases but do not delete Lukes frequencies. Delete all of the talk groups associated with the other Air Bases but do not delete Lukes talk groups. Be sure to set your program to Scan not Search but either will work.

Above works for me loud and clear.
