FYI genius, "Federal" implies "United States."
AND what exactly is the difference between Agency & Service?
AND FINALLY, it was already established that the frequency was 417.20....

But thanks anyway for repeating my post making it "more specific."

Wow. Having a bad day?

I was sharing with FireRescueMedic11 more info with the URL's listed and including all the info in one post so a reader would not need to scroll to other posts. My sincere apologies for unintentionally offending you.

415.2000 and 417.2000 are generally used by FPS nationwide. There is no specific assignment to either one of them. FPS has about 8 UHF frequencies for nationwide use. Here in South Florida, 415.200 has a transmitter just north of Miami that has a very large coverage area. I believe that 417.200 is the West Palm transmitter, but I haven't personally verified it.

FYI: Since FPS is now part of DHS/ICE and they already have a nationwide dispatch system, there is talk about having some ICE components switch over to UHF. Nothing has been set in stone yet, just talks for now.

Now that i have 415.2000 in my 996, it seems to have some activity, still field units DES and dispatch in the clear, but it's pretty interesting,

This is how FPS works in the DFW area, unless they changed things since I moved two years ago.
415.200 is simulcast from Dallas and and Fort Worth (I think they are at the federal buildings) and dispatched from Denver.
They also have secondary repeaters on 419.150 in Dallas and 419.650 in Fort Worth that are rarely used.
None of them transmit PL on the outputs and I never heard any encryption.
Occasionally I could hear a weak repeater on 417.200 but never figured out where it was.

Philadelphia conducted a system test yesterday that could be heard via the 417.2 repeater in Albany, NY.

There's no such thing as the GSA Police.

LPD7,

The General Services Administration does not have a law enforcement component to it and hasn't since the creation of the Department of Homeland Security. See http://www.gsa.gov/Portal/gsa/ep/channelView.do?pageTypeId=8199&channelId=-14501 for GSA's table of organization.

Coming to Mick's defense, he is (as I am) interested in accuracy. The size of an agency, it's placement within the parent agency's table of organization, and it's level of autonomy determine whether it's a team, squad, group, unit, bureau, section, office, battalion, division, command, administration, department, etc., etc., etc.

I'm with Mick and SCANdal on this one.

It IS "FPS" or Federal Protective Service. **NOT** Agency.

Here in the Seattle area they're on 417.200 P25 clear (both field and dispatch) The NW regions are dispatched from Denver -or so I've been told. A lot of the frequencies are reused around the area on simplex for specific locations.

There are a few others, but I don't have the list handy. FYI, when I lived in Oregon 417.200 was the in use from Eugene to Portland. Same flavor- Conventional Clear P25.

417.20 In Htfd Area I Beleive Is FPS, Either Very Busy Or Slow, I Catch It About 3/4 Am alot.

50/50 Clear/Encrypted.

On A Side Note, I Programmed A Bunch Of Fed Freqs Out Of My old Fed Freq Book From Tom Kneitel Just To see What Comes Up.

FBI Looks To Me Working The 163 Band.

135.80 Active To Say The Least, It's In My Fed Program On My 996 T.

Sounds Aeronautical, But I Have My 996 In My Car, Can Only take A Quick Peek ( System 12) when It's active.

What Might It Be??

FireRescueMedic11, how often are you hearing DES? I have not heard any DES Tx yet on the Miami repeater.
