So I have a 536 and a 436, they are programmed completely the same.

The 436 though I have noticed is missing conversations alot. The person is talking, and the 436 will just stop, and start scanning again. It may or may pick it back up, if it picks it up again, it's only for a little bit and then it continues on. Or it may just go in and out.

Meanwhile the 996xt and 536 are on it and are fine.

Any ideas? The signal strength is showing it as full signal.

Could be an LSM issue or reception issue. Is Close Call, Weather Priority, or Channel priority enabled on the 436 and not the 536? What firmware is in each?

I'm not sure how it could be an LSM issue if they are programmed 100% the same. And none of those other ones are turned off.

And not exactly sure on the firmware since I'm not near them now. They should be whatever the most recent one is.

OK. The most recent one was released a couple weeks ago.

And the LSM issue could be due to the different signal strengths or tower reception on the two units since they are using different antennas.

Are you monitoring a simulcast system? Inside use or traveling in an auto w/ exterior antenna?
I have both a 436 & 536, and I find that the 536 handles the cutting out of a simulcast system much better. Also I found radio position & type of antenna make a really big difference, especially on the 436. I use a 800mhz rubber duck antenna for the 436, since all I monitor are 700/800 mhz system, and found that radio position relative to the site makes a huge difference on the 436. The signal strength meter is just OK for measuring relative signal strength, but move the 436 just 1 inch over & much better reception. My 536 does great w/ just the stock whip antenna.
