Maybe I have just missed this in the past but I can't find it listed anywhere as active.

In the past few weeks I have been getting some intermod in the 453 band but largely ignored it. I was searching tonight and found 453.050 CSQ active with a rebroadcast of fireboard from the Talleyville site. Checked the FCC and it is licensed since 7-2004

Also happened to notice a small, 800Mhz ish looking radome antenna under one of the new dishes on the Talley tower this AM.

NCC Fireboard Migration

453.050 and 453.300 are going to be used by NCC Fireboard to rebroadcast digital TG's Fire Dispatch, TAC 3, TAC 4 and EMS OPS 1. All of the fire companies have received 25 Motorola Minitor V pagers. These two frequencies, I believe, will be broadcast from the existing 800 towers throughout the county.

When this system is up and running, 33.78, I believe, will be shut down.

Jeff - this is great info. Please keep us up to date with this; I maintain a page of Delaware fireboard freqs for the Capitol Hill Monitors, and I'll need to update it when this happens.
We also have a page of similar freqs here at RR.

Thanx es 73s Mike

Jeff I have heard that New Castle will have a new paging system with many different call features. Are these the Freqs. that will be used for this?

Hi Group,
Both freq's are operational as of today and are being used as Jeff noted.

Not everyone has their new pagers as of yet though.

33.78 Active.... for now

I belive that 33.78 will be active until the first time it goes down for a problem. Then it's history. I believe that the NCC Fireboard will keep it running until then.

Again, I must again say that this is all second hand info I have obtained from my leadership at the firehouse.

I live in Bellevue Hills and I have a Minitor II that is good only as a home receiver. We obtained some Minitor III's several years ago that were slaved to Elsmere's repeater. Some worked, some did not. Mine didn't as I am on the "reverse slope" of the hill from Elsmere. I am looking forward to a Minitor V. Just what I need... another pager, athough it will have the scanning ability on it.

I do not know enough too much about the Minitor V, but I believe it has multi-agency alerting capabilities, e.g., tone out capability for your home fire company and other "teams", such as the NCCIHMRA hazmat team and the various technical rescue groups.

Since I am in eyesight of the tower in Claymont, so I should have no problems picking up 453.050 and 453.300.

Now the downside...

This is second hand info, but I have also been told that the traditional Motorola tones will not be used with these UHF frequencies. Digital tones will be used to activate individual fire stations.

So much for the FTO feature of the 396.:( NCCo used Plectron Tones for some time and I hate to see it go. 453.0500 and 453.3000 sound good!
