That is BA's old main dispatch frequency. It is still up and is repeatered.
I dont know why you would be hearing data on it though.

yeah 453.95 was used about a year ago when BA had a real bad 78 on Aspen right north of highway 51. Life Flight used it to patch with BAPD's 800 to land 2 helicopters. I think one of them was a 30.

Life Flight always uses 453.950 to talk to BAPD or BAFD for landing zone assistance. BA dispatch has the ability to patch it into their 800 side.

Yeah I know, you would think that Life Flight would have BA's EDACS in their preset like everyone else and not have to go through the old UHF frequency.

Life Flight is on the Tulsa TRS, using Motorola equipment. It is not compatible with BA's EDACS system, thus the use of the patch. The patch works fine, so no need to add an EDACS system into the already crowded aircraft.

You'd also think that B.A. would have had the good sense to not switch to the EDACS system in the first place. :D

I can't believe I did that. I read so many posts on many different boards and people do stuff like that all of the time. When I correct them, I always get told some lame crap like "Well, I don't care about grammar and spelling when I'm posting". mumble mumble...Hooked on Phonics.

I was talking to a BA officer the other day. He told me that the old 453.9500 was being used to activate the tornad sirens. The data burst you heard must of been in relation to the warning sirens.
