Hey all, per the RR database, I have 460.300 programmed in my scanner as "Salinas Detectives". The database lists it as an FM freq. However, I hadn't heard anything on it until the last couple of days. Recently, there has been what sounds like undercover surveillance giong on (i.e. observing people leaving a house) but it's a digital freq that my Pro-96 is decoding. Any idea what this might be?

Are you sure it is "police records"? I have the records freq for Monterey County SO and that is almost always running plates and so on....this does not have any of that. This freq is surveillance, trying to gain informants, etc. I have narrowed it down to being Salinas, but still don't know exactly what it is. All I know at this point is that it is an APCO-25 Digital freq used by law enforcement in Salinas and appears to be surveillance. Beyond that, I have no idea if the freq name in the RR Database is correct.

yeah Monterey SO is VHF-HI 158.9100 AKA channel 2 is County records it's used by any PD in the County that's on VHF-HI. As for Salinas PD that's on UHF they do their own records since they can't access SO records VIA VHF-HI. If listen you hear Sam 13 wich is call sign for their records

and as far for the APCO-25 Digital that's still a no. but i'll ask one the radio tech's when they come by the yard to fix one the PD units Radios.

ah, okay....a tac channel makes more sense. I do know for a fact that it is a digital freq as my Pro-96 is decoding it as such (not to mention the sound is the same as other digital freqs in my scanner....digital has a distinctly different sound). I'm just working under the assumption that it is is APCO-25 since that is the only digital stuff the Pro-96 will decode as far as I know.

460.300 isn't Detectives... ? Whatever it is, I think it is on a APCO-25 system too; being that my 330 doesnt have a decoder on it, all I hear is the scream of an un-decoded digital transmission when they say "Go to Channel 5" on Channel 1.

ScannerDude, 460.375 is Tac... I just heard transmissions going on today on it, crystal clear. Channel 4 on their radios, I checked it up with Officer Lopez at Salinas High on his radio.
